Fergburger, Queenstown,New Zealand

This place is a legendary institution in Queenstown, New Zealand and has many top food recommendations as something you must try when in Queenstown. What makes this place unique is that they don't serve big burgers, they serve HUMONGOUS sized burgers which probably means that there is no room for any sides after divulging the whole burger itself.

After perusing through the menu. I decided to order the world famous Big Al burger from Fergburger for curiosity and as a personal dare as you have never lived without trying one. This burger is HUGE and is definitely something you would not eat everyday!!!!
The Big Al burger contains 2 quarter pound beef patties, bacon, cheese, 2 eggs, beetroot, lettuce, red onion, relish and aioli.
The Big Al burger is nice and has the enjoyable taste similar to that of the corner shop burgers with the lot that I would enjoy but the main difference is it is enormous in size.

My sister who was travelling with me, decided to try the Sweet Bambi burger which contains the meat of the Fiordland deer, lettuce, red onion, tomato, Thai plum chutney and aioli. The burger had a sweet taste from the sauce and the meat tastes similar to beef but with bit of a gamey taste which makes it unique as often does with wild meats.

I eventually divulged the Big Al burger but it took me over half an hour to do so from first bite to the last but felt good to accomplish it but I'm glad I didn't order any sides. Would I do it again? Yes, definitely but not too often though.

Nobanno, Christchurch, New Zealand

I have been very late but this is my first posting about food and travel around the world.
My first posting here will be about Nobanno in Christchurch, New Zealand. I visited New Zealand in late February last year so this posting is very late.
While preparing my trip, I researched a number of restaurants in New Zealand that I should visit and came across Nobanno who at the time was No. 2 on the tripadvisor website for restaurants in Christchurch, New Zealand. Nobanno is a unique restaurant as they are a Bangladeshi restaurant and claims to be the first in New Zealand. They serve traditional Bangladeshi cuisine which I have been told has more of an aromatic spice taste but without the heat in the traditional Indian we are used to eating.

For my entrée we had the Nobanno starter platter which was a mixture of fried meats and vegetables with a nicely crisp battered and tender inside. Along side it there was a tamarind chutney and a mint sauce to compliment the dish.

For my main meal I had two curries which were specials of the day recommended by the waiter who served us along with the usual side orders of Roti, Naan bread, Salad and Saffron Rice (for which I think I over ordered!).
The first dish I had was the lamb special curry which I believe was told was a special sauce made with red wine and mango. The meat was very tender for a lamb curry and the sauce was very nice with a slight spice but was not hot.

The second main dish was the chicken special which were chicken in a special pistachio based sauce. Again the chicken pieces were nice and tender and the is sauce is slightly sweet but with nutty flavour with it. It is a very tasty sauce which compliments the chicken pieces very well.

Overall, the food and service is good and the staff are friendly and are attentive to your needs and they can help you recommend dishes. I recommend trying Nobanno for a more unique South Asia food experience. The place is pleasant and ambient for those special occasions and would definitely visit there again to try some different dishes whenever the next time I'm in Christchurch.
